VIQ: Very Important Question

Very acceptable! Cereal is good!

But if you're planning on eating only what is pictured you may be left a little hungry .. (har, har, har - ok - it's late!)
[this is good]
Definitely acceptable! I have cereal for dinner all the time. And sometimes lunch and/or snacks. But strangely enough, very rarely for breakfast. I know. I'm weird. :)

So very, very acceptable. Growing up we frequently had sandwiches for breakfast and cereal throughout the day. Cereal is so fortified with vitamins and minerals you can't go wrong.

Groan. No. No cereal for dinner. Breakfast, Snackers - OK. Even I can't drink wine with cereal.
of course cereal is acceptable for dinner. cereal is always good. but make sure you have some fruit with it. :)
i usually have cereal as desert. i figure it's better than eating cookies (yay vitamins!) yet it's still sweet enough to be considered a snack.

then again, i don't put anything in my cereal. just my hands in the box. so, if you add milk to it, i'm SURE it could be considered dinner. and i agree with liz above. put some fruit in it, and you'll be all set.

Ahhh... so in 9 hours since the post, I've got 6 votes for (including my own) and 1 vote against. That's good to know. :D

I tend with Jen -- when I have time to make breakfast, it's rarely cereal -- eggs/bacon, pancakes, breakfast burrito, oatmeal (not instant) and toast. I find cereal is good when you're not that hungry but want something quick and tasty.

Also, does throwing on raisins (assuming the cereal doesn't already come with them...) count as adding fruit?

I'd like to know what prompted this question, aside from mere curiosity.
VERY acceptable. Did that a ton at school. I'd have two or three bowls while studying because I could just leave it sit without it going "bad."
So, I've had this conversation with my beloved (whom I will not identify, but you might be able to pick out from oh, say this post) many many many times. So, after the last "you shouldn't have cereal for dinner" "sure I can, its good for me and I like it" Mexican stand-off, I decided to throw it out to the vox-nation (or at least neighborhood) and see where the flakes fell.
Acceptable. In fact, that's what I had for dinner last night. Usually I have cereal if it's too late for a normal, heavier meal (and I want to go to sleep on time). But I too have gotten plenty of crap for this habit.

Angelanoel -- I'm so happy!! With all the great looking recipes you've posted, I wondered if you'd come down into the "anti-cereal" camp -- glad there's room for cereal in with all that fine food! :D

Hahaha. You don't see photos of the total and complete CRAP I eat most of the time, just the pretty stuff my hubby makes. If it were left up to me, we'd eat our weight in Bagel Bites and Hot Pockets. :)
Any and all breakfast foods are acceptable for dinner.... and the reverse is also true. I cannot think of a better example than birthday cake for breakfast!
Cereal for dinner is so unbelievably acceptable!!!
Uhh, First of all who like cereal? Like I enjoy Reese Puffs from time to time but who can resist that Chocolatey and Peanut Butter Flavor in your mouth all morning. But Cereal for dinner? I already have a hard enough time eating it once a day.
[this is good]

Hellz yes! Cereal is acceptable for any time, any place.

...Now I want cereal.

Also, that picture looks like a really giant Cheerio, and now I wish they made like... giant cereal. I would love to wear a Cheerio as a bracelet and snack on it all day. Or have potato-chip-sized frosted flakes!

Aaaah!!! So true. I'm serious, any time I have cake in my possession, it becomes breakfast for the next day. I mean, what happier way to begin one's day than with cake?
Cereal for dinner and fried chicken for breakfast!
I've never understood the need for people to categorize their foods based on the time of day.
[esto es genial]
Oh and [this is good]
Ah....... ginger bread, any pie and especially birthday cake for breakfasts. THAT is good! TRW and I will be having that wine with fried chicken for dinner.
Cereal for dinner is absolutely acceptable! Actually, any type of "healthy" food (i.e. low sugar; moderate amount of nutrients) is good at any time of the day or night, in my opinion. I have cereal whenever I'm hungry and don't feel like cooking a large meal. I've had bacon, eggs and pancakes or oatmeal for dinner, too. Just today I ate oatmeal (quick oats; not instant) for an early dinner and eggs in the late evening, because I felt like it.

My husband dislikes the idea that food must be categorized based on the time of day. Following my husbands lead, I've even eaten pizza, pasta and leftovers (meatloaf and mashed potatoes) for breakfast. I try to refrain from eating sweeter meals and treats (like cake, ice-cream, junk food, etc) too early in the day as I'll either end up regretting it later or continue to eat too much of it throughout the day, but that doesn't mean I haven't eaten cake in the morning. ;)
How great it is that so many folks have thrown off the shackles of the "you can only eat certain things at certain times" establishment. Breakfast food all day! Pizza for breakfast! Love it!
okay, now . . . pizza for breakfast is pushing it. not for the "pizza is only for lunch or dinner" aspect . . . but could you really eat a big greasy slice half an hour after waking up? my stomach turns just at the thought.
its ok, but i will say...

not that my wife makes dinner every night (she does most), but if she put bowls of cereal in front of the three of us (herself, my son, and me), she might get a funny look...
[this is good]
Pizza isn't always greasy; it really depends on the toppings. Some toppings produce more grease than others, in my cooking experience. Plus, any amount of grease can always be dabbed off with a napkin before eating. :)
[this is good]
are you a blotter too?!?! :D

(in actuality, i can eat very few varieties of pizza, as the combination of the cheese - lactose and oil - and the sauce - oil - don't like me very much. although i sure love the way they taste . . .)
Blotting pizza?!?!? I refer you guys to here. Of course, if you eat it in the morning, then all the grease will have congealed and then there's nothing to worry about. :)
I was going to say -- if you leave the pizza in the box in the refrigerator (like I do), then there's no grease to be found. Yum. I love cold pizza for breakfast. And Dr Pepper. This is why my doctor hates me.
Yes but everyone knows that cold pizza and Dr Pepper for breakfast is the REAL breakfast of champions!
