Entertainment QotD: Favorite 80's Movie

So that's why you wear the hat.
[this is good]

Indiana Jones is the man! I wish he was real.

My kids have recently discovered the IJ movies, and now we're all anxiously awaiting May 22 - the day the new one comes out!

I guess all you have to do now is deal with the supernatural, beat up a Nazis and you will have for filled your dream. ;o)
You mean to say more than Empire Strikes Back. Sacrilege!!!
No -- my dermatologist makes me wear the hat!
Grandma-P -- you just made my day... :D

Sorry, man -- I have to call 'em like I see 'em. I also think that RotLA has aged better than SW:IV-VI -- but that may be the effects of I-III talking.

BLADE RUNNER ROCKS LIKE NO ONE'S BUSINESS!
haha! great answer :)

i would like to second grandma p's comment, also! :D
That's my husband's favorite too (he was a biology major).
A bit of trivia....did you know that Tom Selleck was Lucas's original pick for the character of Indiana Jones? Hard to imagine Jones played by anyone other than Ford.
Hmmm. I might have to go with Empire Strikes Back, too. Or Goonies. Or any of the John Hughes movies. But Indiana Jones is dreamy.
:) Going to have to share this with the all-to-hot rocket scientists buddy o' mine. He's gonna love your analysis.
Jim -- i'd heard that Sellick was the original choice -- and while I have a soft-spot for Magnum, PI --- I don't think it could have had the same magic as with Ford.
Cross-posted from your place -- and this also goes to mdoci ---

I agree that "Empore" is hands-down the best of the SW movies.

Though one could argue, that from a strict interpretation of the calendar -- that the 80s did not officially begin until 1981, in the same way that the 21st century didn't begin until 1/1/2001. That would then make "Empire" the best movie of the 1970s -- unless, of course, you prefer "Jaws".

Love this movie too - definitely the best of the 3 - can't wait to check out the new one in May!

i'm afraid to see the new indie move :(

v

v -- I kind of am too -- is it too hard to hope (really hope) that it will be great?
